Welcome to the Practis Community — rules and how this place works

Welcome! This is the community for musicians who take practice seriously — students, hobbyists, teachers, and the team behind Practis.

The short version: be generous, be specific, talk about the work.

House rules

  1. Be kind, especially about playing. Posting a recording or admitting a struggle takes nerve. Critique the playing only when asked, and critique like a good teacher would.
  2. Stay concrete. “Practice slower” helps nobody. “I took it to 60 BPM, hands separate, for a week” helps everyone.
  3. No self-promotion. Sharing your recital recording: yes. Dropping your course/channel/affiliate links: no. Teachers may mention they teach in their profile, not in threads.
  4. One topic per thread. New problem, new thread — future readers searching for the same issue will thank you.
  5. Respect the privacy of students. Teachers: anonymise. “A student of mine” — never names, never identifiable details.
  6. This is a members-only space. Discussions are visible to logged-in members only. What people share here stays here.

Where things go

  • Practice & Routines — habits, schedules, motivation, planning
  • Repertoire & Technique — pieces and how to play them
  • Teachers’ Lounge — running a studio, assignments, student progress
  • Performance & Stage — recitals, auditions, nerves, recordings
  • Practis Feedback & Help — the app itself: questions, bugs, ideas

Flag anything that breaks the rules and we’ll handle it. Otherwise: introduce yourself below, and tell us what you’re practising this week.
