Self planner, ability to add exercises and repertoire categories

Thanks for this app! I think it’s pretty good already and has a lot of potential.

What I would like to see is a personal planner for what to practice. Not necessarily suggestions from the AI, but rather an organizer where I can schedule things, keep track of how many times I’ve practiced something, and perhaps in collaboration with a AI make a planning throughout a week or a month to make sure I hit certain things a number of times.

Further, I have a lot of exercises that I do and I would like to be able to spread those out throughout the week. It is strange to put them in his pieces when I have to also give the Composer

Also, in my planning, I would like to hit a number of categories each day, such as warm-ups, études, pieces, improvisation, etc. it would be handy if I could group the pieces and exercises into these categories and then for example, make a planning which includes these categories so that I would hit the categories each day and then there will be a rotation of materials within each category.

I’m finding out that I like to use the Website version the best since it seems to have the most extensive options. With the current version, my best workflow is to choose a piece, which is often an exercise, and then turn on the timer. One problem with the website version is that you cannot add comments about how it went at the end of the practice. There is just the smiley face rating. The only way to add a specific comment or reflection on the practice is to go into the Practice history and open that session from today and then add a comment. In the iOS app version you can add comments directly. Can this be implemented in the website version?

When I record a video on the Website version, the volume is really low even though I have it at its highest level on my iPad. Is there something I’m doing wrong or is that something about the app?

By the way, sorry for all these comments. I’m very enthusiastic about Practis and just giving suggestions about how it could be improved, at least from my singular perspective.

Another issue: if you are using the timer for a session on the website, and then go to another app for the score - Newzik in my case- , when you go back to the website, it refreshes the page and then you lose the timer.

Hi Ned,

No worries at all and thank you for the detailed comments  We are glad you are enjoying Practis, and we work closely with the community when deciding what to improve. We are in the middle of some updates right now, but the team will go through your suggestions soon.

One quick question: are you using the timer only on the web version? On Android and iOS, the timer can keep running in the background once it is set up correctly, so you can switch to another app without losing your session.

On mobile you can also open scores, either from our library or by uploading your own file, and Practis will track your practice time for that score automatically, including a breakdown of how much time you spent on each page.

Regarding the video recording on the iPad: we have tested it on several devices and are still adjusting the settings, so input volume should improve over the next few days. That said, on some devices the input gain is fixed in hardware and we have no control over it. Those microphones are tuned for speech, which sits in a fairly narrow dynamic range, so they handle something like, say a piano, not that well

Thanks again for taking the time to write this up. We will post when an update / fix is in place for various things.
