We’ve been wanting to build this for a long time, and it’s finally here: Cue.
Open a piece’s sheet music, start playing, and Cue follows you through the music as you play, quietly keeping track of where you are.
How it works
Choose a passage by marking its first and last bar, or leave it open and simply play through the score. Cue picks up from where you play, follows along as you play, and stays out of the way.
When you finish, Cue gives you a short review of what just happened: what your focus was, how many times you played through the passages, and where your runs tended to stop.
Think of it as a useful look back at what happened while you were practising.
You can also bookmark an attempt you’d like to come back to and leave yourself a note for next time.
A quick note on accuracy: Cue’s live tracking is designed to follow along in real time, so it may occasionally be a little less precise while you’re playing. After you finish, Cue can analyse the full attempt with more context, which generally allows for more accurate results in the session review.

Cue is available on the web, Android, and iPhone and iPad. Just make sure you’re on the latest version of the app:

Getting started

Add a piece and give it sheet music, or choose something from the free Score Library.

Open the score and tap Cue in the top bar.

The first time you use Cue with a score, Practis reads the music so it knows where the bars are. This usually takes a few minutes, and you only have to wait once per score. Feel free to keep playing in the meantime while the analysis finishes.

Choose a passage, or simply start playing.
On the phone apps, the score needs to be saved to your account for Cue to work. Practis will ask you once whether you’d like to sync it, and nothing is uploaded until you say yes.
